The foliage is beautifully and deeply dissected and is accompanied by arching stems of stunning red flowers in late spring. Like the species, expect Dicentra spectabilis 'Valentine' to look like it has seen better days as the summer progresses so be sure to plant material around it that can mask its tired appearance.
