Corylopsis glabrescens

Corylopsis glabrescens

Winterhazel - Fragrant

Corylopsis glabrescens flowers heavily in March and April, with long showy hanging racemes of bright yellow fragrant flowers.  The zigzag branches are particularly interesting in late winter, when they display their swelling flower buds.  Considered the hardiest of all the Corylopsis, and thus the best for Northern Gardens.  Tolerates dry sites.
