Allium stipitatum 'Mount Everest'

Ornamental Onion

Tall, regal, and white as snow just like its namesake, Allium ‘Mount Everest’ is a hardy Ornamental Onion selection that boasts fluffy, pom-pom like globular inflorescences packed with individual snow-white florets with green centers. Standing at nearly 4’ in height, these unique and attractive flowers are bound to make a statement in the center of the pollinator garden or planted along the back of the perennial border. The long-lasting blooms begin to appear in late May, continuing for several weeks into early July. The strappy, arching foliage makes a wonderful textural component when planted in drifts, creating a lovely visual and aromatic sensory experience when hit with a gentle breeze. Despite its pleasant and enticing fragrance, deer don’t pay ‘Mount Everest’ Ornamental Onion any mind. The upright, showy blooms and no-fuss garden performance helped Allium ‘Mount Everest’ to land the prized Award of Garden Merit by the RHS.
