Kate Irvine

Inventory & Shipping Coordinator/Creative Director

After receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art and Design, I spent a decade working as a botanical artist in the tattoo industry when I discovered that my true passion was the plants themselves as opposed to the act of imprinting them on the bodies of others. As my hunger for horticultural knowledge grew, so did my love of medicinal plants and their endless histories. Soon enough, I found myself back in school at Temple University, pursuing both my Bachelor of Science in Horticulture as well as my Certificate in Horticultural Therapy. This led me to cultivate an intensity for Mid-Atlantic native plants, as well as a burning dedication to bringing the beauty and serenity of nature to those that would benefit most from it.

More About Kate

When I’m not gardening, exploring the woods, or making art, I can typically be found watching terrible reality shows with my two kitties, Pumpkin (named after my favorite season) and Leuco (named after one of my favorite plants), and my ball python, Gordy (named because he looks like a yellow Halloween gourd :D).

Favorite perennial: Toss-up between Liatris pycnostachya or Achillea millefolium

Favorite ornamental woody: Leucothoe axillaris

Favorite bird: Tufted titmouse
