Now that Richard and Heidi have retired, their son Carl Hesselein (5th generation nurserymen) leads the team with, 2 production division managers, 15+ production support people, an inventory coordinator, creative director and 2 sales/customer service people in the office. Among the nursery team there are 4 Certified Nursery Landscape Professionals (CNLP).

Richard was named NJNLA Nurseryman of the Year in 2008, and Pleasant Run was awarded 2018 Hall Of Fame Inductee by NJNLA.  In 2022, Carl received Young Professional of the Year by NJNLA and in 2023 Pleasant Run Nursery was awarded Grower of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association. 

Both Sales and Production work together and function as a closely knit team.
