Lisa Strovinsky

Sales/Logistics/Marketing

No path is a straight line. Prior to joining the team, I spent several years in business operations and as a Project Manager. When we bought our first house in Allentown, I started gardening and so it began. A few years later, I met Heidi and Richard while rejuvenating the local garden club. As my friendship with them grew, so did my love for gardening and I soon felt the need to change careers. I officially started at Pleasant Run Nursery in 2008.

I enjoy talking with customers about their favorite plants, finding out what plants work best for them in their designs and helping them brainstorm about plant options for challenging landscape problems. In addition to sales, I coordinate Pleasant Run deliveries with both our trucks and via third-party carriers. I am also responsible for website development, catalog creation, social media and plant photography.

More About Lisa

I love learning about all the new plants we offer and am especially exciting about growing more native species and cultivars. Ecological Landscaping is very important to me and Doug Tallamy’s “Call to Action” about the importance of native plants and our ecosystem have forever influenced me. Although my own garden is not entirely native, I continue to add natives and pollinator-friendly plants whenever possible.

I have an undergraduate degree in Fashion, a minor in Marketing and a Master’s in Business Administration. I am a member the Allentown Shade Tree Commission, Ecological Landscape Alliance and have my CNLP (Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional) certificate from NJNLA.

When not gardening, I enjoy traveling abroad, visiting Botanical Gardens and Arboretums or just getting lost somewhere in the county.

Favorite Woodies: Cotinus obovatus, Illicium x ‘Woodland Ruby’ & Nyssa sylvatica ‘Wildfire’.

Favorite Perennials: Amsonia hubrichtii, Aster divaricatus ‘Eastern Star’, Spigelia and Tiarella.
