Kelly DeLura
Nursery Inventory Manager
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities at Providence College, RI back in 2011 and have been reflecting on how I truly want to live and work ever since. Always drawn to the performing arts, world cultures, literature, and philosophy, it only made sense that I would find myself constantly researching possibilities of further areas of study, as well as potential experiences to work in different fields - studying the humanities leads to a very curious mind. I think many can understand the draw and relationship that the natural world and the arts share: they heal, they educate, and they wake you up.
More About KellyPrior to joining Pleasant Run I held a myriad of positions in coaching, parks and recreation, law, agriculture, gardening, and nursing. The natural world has been a constant on my path, and ever since I camped with my family growing up and played for hours in the backyard, combined with the parks' gardening programs I took part in, various horticulture courses, and helping my Mom expland her garden, my interest in plants has grown significantly over the years.
I am so grateful to be working in such an incredible greenspace. Here I am able to witness the changes of each plant as it cycles through the seasons, and continue learning from colleagues as well as the plants themselves.
Outside of work you will find me taking tree walks, listening to jazz, and growing veggies and flowers with my husband in our local community garden. I also love cooking, reading, dancing, and checking out new hikes and areas to explore. I regularly take long walks in the woods with my husband and the two other loves of my life: my pups Pickles and Kimchi.
