Rhododendron Northern Lights™ 'Mandarin Lights'

Deciduous Azalea

Developed as part of the wonderfully cold-hardy Northern Lights™ series, Rhododendron ‘Mandarin Lights’ is a bright orange-flowering Deciduous Azalea that remains compact in habit at approximately 4’ wide and 5’ high. No-fuss and low-maintenance, ‘Mandarin Lights’ Deciduous Azalea’s ability to tolerate full sun as well as drought conditions make it suitable for a wide range of landscape conditions. The fluorescent, mandarin-orange flowers bloom in profuse clusters of up to 12 flowers each, beginning in April and often blooming into May, appearing before the bronzy green new foliage and making quite an impact in the garden. The brightly colored and delicately fragrant tubular flowers are known for attracting bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and curious humans alike. Come autumn, the foliage bronzes completely before dropping, leaving a densely branched winter silhouette in its absence.
