Hydrangea quercifolia Gatsby Moon® PP25413

Oakleaf Hydrangea

Hydrangea quercifolia Gatsby Moon® is a compact Oakleaf Hydrangea selection packed with densely knitted flowerheads, so tightly packed with blooms that it’s enough to cause a total eclipse… of your heart, at least! This vigorously growing North American native shrub is known for its large, oakleaf-shaped foliage that persists on the plant far beyond the autumn season, Gatsby Moon® Oakleaf Hydrangea assumes an attractive burgundy wine beginning in late September that lingers as a seasonal accent until late into fall, occasionally even into winter. From late June to September, large, conical panicles of white, doubled florets take over on sturdy, upright stems, so tightly knit together that it gives the flowerheads a textural quilted appearance. As they age throughout their long bloom period, they mature to a pleasant lime green that lasts well into the dog days of summer, proving their weather and heat tolerance.
