A festival of color all season long! From spring to late fall, Physocarpus opulifolius Amber Jubilee™ presents an array of delicious, candy-colored tones packed into a compact native shrub. Foliage emerges a bright orange with yellow venation and matures to a crisp, nearly chartreuse green on new growth combined with darker green on old growth in summer. The unique color display culminates in a purple and red finale come autumn that puts other deciduous shrubs to shame. The sunrise-colored spring foliage provides a vibrant backdrop for the precious, white flowers from May to June, which transform to become bright red fruit capsules alongside the foliage in autumn. Amber Jubilee™ Ninebark is particularly mildew-resistant, allowing for its foliage to sparkle throughout the growing season. As with other Ninebark selections, Amber Jubilee™ Ninebark is particularly useful in difficult conditions, such as sites with drought and erosion prone soils, and can be used as a hedge in situations requiring soil stabilization.
