Kalmia latifolia 'Bullseye'

Mountain Laurel

'Bullseye' Mountain Laurel produces lovely clumps of blooms in May and June.  The flowers are deep crimson pink in bud, opening to cream bells which have a maroon band around the inside edges (hence the name).  The new growth opens in shades of bronzy red, rapidly turning to lustrous evergreen foliage.  This native is found in rocky and sandy woodland sites throughout New England and the Mid Atlantic states.  Acid soil and partial shade are best for all Kalmias.
