Clematis Clair de Lune™ PP12838
Clematis
Chosen for its compact form and large, attractive flowers, Clematis Clair de Lune™ is a well-behaved vine that can easily be used to decorate unconventional container plantings. Clair de Lune™ Clematis produces large, pale lilac flowers with slightly ruffled petal edges and dark reddish-purple centers, blooming prolifically from May to June and experiencing a sporadic second bloom from August into September. The medium green foliage becomes almost completely obscured by the robust, showy flowers, which bloom freely in part shade or shady areas but assume a darker lilac hue in sunnier spots. No matter where it ends up in the landscape, Clematis Clair de Lune™ flowers are attractive to butterflies and are long-lasting, making them wonderful additions to fresh cut flower arrangements in spring and summer.
Group A: Benefits from a light pruning in late winter or early spring, followed by a light pruning after the summer bloom period. The second pruning encourages the large flowered cultivars to rebloom in late summer.
