Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire'

Bloodtwig Dogwood

Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire' is a Bloodtwig Dogwood similar in twig coloration to 'Winter Flame', but different in habit because it suckers much more vigorously, making a large patch eventually. The twigs are a lime green in summer, changing rapidly to yellow at center and to orange and red at tips in fall and winter. Found by H. Venhorst of the Netherlands.
