Iberis sempervirens 'Mermaid Lavender' PPAF

Candytuft

What’s not to love about Iberis ‘Mermaid Lavender’? Clusters of lilac purple flowers bloom from late spring throughout the summer, beginning in early June and continuing steadily into September. ‘Mermaid Lavender’ Candytuft blooms earlier than its white-flowering cousin, intriguing a host of flying pollinators such as bees and butterflies to visit during its long flowering season. Small, evergreen foliage provides year-round texture to the garden, and looks excellent scrambling over walls or along rock garden pathways and edges, especially when covered in profuse lavender-violet flowers. Eventually creating a dense, blanket-like mound once established, Iberis ‘Mermaid Lavender’ is not only an incredibly low-maintenance perennial, but is also one that is particularly resistant to many pests, diseases, and browsing by wildlife.
