Paeonia x Itoh 'Yankee Doodle Dandy'

Itoh Peony

'Yankee Doodle Dandy' Itoh Hybrid Peony produces a large number of semi-double flowers in May and June, over vigorous green foliage.  The large blooms have deep pink petals that shade to dark rose-red at the base, accentuated by yellow stamens.  The original intersectional crosses were produced in Japan by Toichi Itoh in 1948, but Paeonia 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' is a hybrid from American Peony breeder Donal Smith.
