Pycnanthemum x 'Smokey Mountain Mint' PPAF

Mountain Mint

Have you ever wondered what a purple-leaved Mountain Mint would look like, and how much pizzazz it would add to the pollinator garden? Wonder no more! Pycnanthemum x incanum ‘Smokey Mountain Mint’ is a brand new selection of our favorite native perennial that features the same clusters of silvery summer blooms, but instead highlights the garden with its burgundy-purple and silver-tinged foliage at the height of the growing season. As with other Pycnanthemum species, ‘Smokey Mountain Mint’ Mountain Mint is a long-time bloomer, with its first flowers appearing in midsummer around late June and persisting well into early fall, often September and early October. This genus is beloved for its attractiveness and benefits to pollinators and makes an excellent addition to sunny borders and children’s gardens, where its lovely fragrance and flurry of pollinator activity are sure to entertain passersby.
