Polygonatum odoratum 'Angel Wing' PP21543
A variegated selection of Fragrant Soloman’s seal, Polygonatum odoratum ‘Angel Wing’ is a naturally occurring mutation of its parent, Polygonatum odoratum ‘Variegata’, featuring even more prominent creamy-white leaf margins and a compact, vigorous growth habit that is slightly shorter in stature. Grown primarily for its foliage that remains gorgeous throughout the growing season, the small, bell-shaped blooms that hang rather inconspicuously on the undersides of the branches produce a heavenly scent that encourages passersby to inspect this plant closer. From May to early June, the delicate white blooms dangle in pairs below the foliage, producing a sweet fragrance similar to lilacs and hyacinths. ‘Angel Wing’ Variegated Soloman’s Seal spreads vigorously by rhizome, and will form small, compact colonies over time in the shade garden.
