Prior to the emergence of the colorful foliage, dark pink flowers swath the branches and stems that are loved by early spring pollinators, often in late April and early May. The upright, well-branching form of Hearts A’Fire™ Redbud makes this small deciduous tree a wonderful specimen in the small cottage garden, container planting, or tight urban yard, with its flashy color and approachable size reminiscent of Japanese maples.
