Gaura lindheimeri Gaudi™ Red PP26518
Maybe we’re a bit biased, but Gaura lindheimeri Gaudi™ Red is one of the best Wand Flowers on the market! This native cultivar has been chosen for its poignantly red butterfly-shaped blooms that appear along sprawling sprays in sheer abundance throughout the summer and autumn, often beginning late in the spring. All in all, Gaudi™ Red Wand Flower can produce staggering quantities of blooms from early June well into late September or early October. They are visited by various pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds of whom are attracted to the vibrant ruby-raspberry red that is this perennial’s namesake. The flowers aren’t keeping the color all for themselves, though: the clumps of dark green foliage from which the flowers emerge is also tinged with traces of ruby red, burgundy, and scarlet throughout the growing season. Gaura lindheimeri Gaudi™ Red is an upright, well-branching selection that slowly spreads outwardly and maintains a compact habit, perfect for the perennial border or cottage garden.
