Iris sibirica 'Purring Tiger'

Siberian Iris

Maybe a tiger really can change its stripes! Iris sibirica ‘Purring Tiger’ is the perfect compact Siberian Iris selection for small garden spaces, reaching only 18” in height at maturity with its dusty purple flowers bedazzled with yellow-and-purple striped outer petals. Wonderfully disease and juglone resistant, ‘Purring Tiger’ Siberian Iris performs spectacularly around rain gardens, ponds, and naturalized garden spaces with moist, well-draining soils for months on end. Blooming from June well into late July, Iris sibirica ‘Purring Tiger’ fills in the gaps between earlier blooming Bearded Irises and later blooming Japanese Irises, ensuring an exotic display of Iris flowers from spring to late summer when intermixed. As with most Iris selections, ‘Purring Tiger’ Siberian Iris is both rabbit and deer resistant.
