Alyssum wulfenianum 'Golden Spring' PP25710

Madwort

Alyssum wulfenianum ‘Golden Spring’ is a reliably hardy semi-evergreen perennial and the first cultivar of its species, chosen for its large, bright yellow flower clusters. ‘Golden Spring’ Alyssum, also called Madwort, is an easily-grown, spreading selection that becomes enveloped in the sunshine yellow blooms in mid-spring from April to May, effectively creating a dense, low-growing blanket of blooms over top of its succulent-like blue-green foliage. Alyssum wulfenianum ‘Golden Spring’ is a plant of short stature, reaching only 6-9” in height at maturity, making it a wonderful option for the front edge of a rock garden or container planting. ‘Golden Spring’ Madwort is highly drought and cold tolerant, preferring dry and well draining soils especially in winter. While the profuse blooms may attract various butterfly species, deer and rabbits both tend to leave this plant alone.
