Pale yellow medium-sized blooms of 'Gold Star' age to ivory. New growth is an attractive bronze. Hybridized by Phil Savage of Michigan, who originally called it 'Bronze Leaf Baby Shoes' and luckily changed his mind. Parents of this hybrid are M. acuminata var. subcordata ‘Miss Honeybee’ and M. stellata ‘Rubra’.
