Hypericum calycinum

Hypericum calycinum

St Johnswort

Aaronsbeard St. Johnswort has blue-green foliage followed by small yellow flowers in summer. Once established, Hypericum calycinum is a good groundcover for poor, dry sites and excellent for use on extreme slopes or sandy soils.  Hypericum calycinum blooms on new growth.  If it does not dieback in winter, shear plants in late winter or early spring to renew and induce new growth and flowers.
